Project: Agency, Authorship and Appearance, the AAA Programme in the Epigraphy of Cyprus

The STONE-MASTERS project is launching a call for applications for the Intensive Programme in Greek and Latin Epigraphy Agency, Authorship and Appearance. The Programme in the Epigraphy of Cyprus (6-13 May 2025) is organized in cooperation with the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus. PhD students and postdocs working in the field of Greek and Latin epigraphy of the Roman, Late Roman and Medieval periods are invited to apply.
During a week-long study trip in May, participants will explore the rich epigraphic heritage of Cyprus, focusing in particular on a number of selected Roman Imperial, Late Roman, Byzantine and Post-Byzantine periods. The focus of the study will be on published inscriptions, especially with artisan and donor signatures (including identified signature forms, characteristic carving techniques and letter forms), from publicly accessible museum collections, open-air exhibitions and archaeological and cultural heritage sites.
The programme will cover the expenses of the accepted participants. See the link below for how to apply.
