Two major grants in the field of ancient studies for UW scholars

Out of 17 Sonata bis grants in humanities, awarded in the recent NCN call, two will go to UW-based scholars working within the field of ancient studies.

Artur Obłuski (Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology), Kyriakós oíkos? Diachronic conceptualisation of the space and function of Medieval Nubian churches

Julia Doroszewska (Faculty of History),  Thinking of Thinking: Conceptual Metaphors of Cognition in the Plutarchan Corpus.

Both are team-projects, each was awarded a grant of c.3,000,000 PLN. The ranking list can be found here.
